Providing Bible Education
to Virginia’s Youth
Starting in the 2024-2025 school year, our pilot program at Jamestown High will offer weekly 75-minute Bible classes during the 4th/8th block at Williamsburg Community Chapel. These sessions will be led by experienced instructors, and attendance will count as excused absences with makeup work arranged with teachers.
School Ministries 757, founded in 2023, is a local program of the national School Ministries (schoolministries.org) that provides direction and support to local chapters for Released Time Bible Education (RTBE). RTBE is a Biblical education program offered off premises during school hours for public school children. RTBE is established for K-12. Several states allow high school credit for RTBE. You can find out more about RTBE online at releasedtime.org.
Children participating in Released Time programs do better academically and have fewer behavioral problems. School Ministries programs bring hope and purpose to youth, prepare them to be responsible adults, contributing citizens, and Godly examples.
Following the first video are three more videos which you can view to learn more.
When you entrust your student to caring Christians in your community, dedicated to sharing God’s Truth in love, you will see that Released Time Bible Education can lead to stronger academic performance and better behavior.
Released Time students perform better, have fewer behavioral issues, and thus are much more likely to stay in school than the average student. RTBE improves the odds of students’ success, and it doesn’t cost schools anything!
RTBE classes bring public school students into an understanding of the Bible and into a relationship with Jesus Christ. When this happens, they are encouraged to get involved in a church which can help them grow in their faith.
"When I go to Released Time class it makes all the difference. I know that someone has my back praying for me. I like learning the Bible, but I really like that I have people to pray for me."
"What I liked best about Released Time is that I could understand it. I came here because I didn't have a church to go to. The Bible I received when I came to Released Time really helps me when I'm going through hard times."
